Community Engagement

Neurostar Nexus

I founded Neurostar Nexus, which was a Twitch stream team that focused on neurodivergent streamers. The goal was to create a safe space for neurodivergent individuals to come together and support one another.

Kweh Con

In November 2022, I created and hosted a virtual event called “Kweh Con.” This was a 4 day long event that pooled together streamers from various backgrounds to celebrate the Final Fantasy franchise. The event ended with the Streamer Kwehwards, which showcased each streamer. To create the “awards show” vibe, I used AI language models to converse with one another as the “hosts” of the night.

I designed and coded several games that mimicked mini-games from the series and held several podcast episodes discussing the finer points of the games, as well as how the franchise impacted the streamers’ lives.

An event like this is not an easy task to undertake. Besides coordinating schedules with 20+ streamers, I had to embed their streams into my OBS and sync their audio. In order to create the interactive, multi-player mini-games, I had to integrate OBS, Stream Deck, MixItUp, Streamer.bot, and more.

Knebblar School of Astrowizzles

The Knebblar School of Astrowizzles was a unique creation. It integrated multiple platforms, including Twitch and Discord. Users were able to receive their “acceptance letter” via a Channel Point redemption on Twitch. This automatically assigned them the appropriate roles in Discord, which allowed them access to Fluxion Alley. Fluxion Alley was a special place in the Discord where users could play games, earn credits, “buy” items, and eventually purchase their “train ticket,” which would later be used as verification prior to boarding the “space train.” Once users had their train ticket, they could ride the space train and participate in the “sorting ceremony” live on stream. The sorting ceremony was a quiz coded by myself and two of my colleagues that automatically assigned the corresponding roles in Discord upon completion. These roles allowed each student access to their “common room,” which was a private channel in the Discord. Every student was able to use special commands on Twitch and Discord, as well as participate in special events, buy custom merch, and more.
